Sye Smith, Technical Advisor. Sye brings over 15 years of experience as an ISA Certified Arborist, working primarily with the urban canopy. He has taken part in the conservation of endemic and native trees in sensitive areas throughout Hawaii. In his free time, you will find him surfing, “I’ll do it until I can’t,” or tying flies for his next trip to one of his secret spots. His favorite tree is Ficus benghalensis, the most famous example being the Lahaina Banyan. If he were hosting a dinner party and could invite any three guests, he would invite Carl Sagan, Gene Roddenberry, and Hunter S. Thompson for the conversation around the future of humanity. If it needed narration, David Attenborough would be his 4th guest.
