A New Tool in the Toolbox for Scale Management

Minnetonka, MN -- September 14, 2020 -- Rainbow Treecare Scientific Advancements announces Proxite™, a new, non-neonicotinoid insect growth regulator for tree care and landscape professionals. Proxite provides control of whitefly, armored, and soft scale pests, and is effective in managing even hard to control species. It is an ideal tool for integrated pest management (IPM) or insect resistance management (IRM) programs and is most useful in targeting hosts that also attract beneficial insects. It’s a great solution to complete your scale management toolbox.

Proxite is an insect growth regulator that acts by interrupting the development of the target insect. It is applied through foliar spray, and it has translaminar movement in the leaves, meaning it translocates locally in the leaf. This makes it ideal for small plants where foliar spraying is a more operationally practical option. Rainbow recommends applying Proxite with RTSA Horticultural Oil for optimal performance.

Additional Details: Proxite should be applied at crawler emergence based on the specific scale species’ lifecycle. The product remains active for 14-28 days and should be applied no more than twice every six months. Proxite is a non-restricted General Use product that has a CAUTION label and has a no bee hazard icon.
