Lydia Kan Joins Rainbow Ecoscience as the Territory Manager for Upper Midwest

Minnetonka, MN—September 19, 2023— Lydia Kan joined the Rainbow Ecoscience team in August 2023 as the Territory Manager covering Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota. As a Territory Manager, Lydia is responsible for supporting our tree care and landscape clients’ integration of Rainbow’s plant health care solutions through sales, training, and support.

Lydia has a B.S. in Environmental Science from Bethel University and worked in an entomology lab focused on Walnut Twig Beetles, and on a prairie restoration for the University of Minnesota. She got her start in arboriculture when she joined the city of Minnetonka, Minnesota as a tree inspector looking for diseased trees.

She has been with Rainbow since 2017, first as a PHC technician, performing spray treatments, as well as a season doing EAB treatments as well as inspecting ash and selling treatments to homeowners. From there, she worked in the utility division, using Cambistat (our tree growth regulator) on trees growing along utility lines as a quality assurance arborist.

“Lydia brings her vast experience within Rainbow Companies, including extensive knowledge of plant health care and utility vegetation management. During her time at Rainbow, she has worked in plant care as a plant healthcare technician, an associate arborist in Rainbow Treecare, and quality manager for our Growth Solutions team. Lydia is excited to meet clients and provide support through training on our science-based protocols," said Chris Haugen, Assistant Director Sales for Rainbow.

In her free time, Lydia enjoys hiking, road trips, crocheting, photography, and biking. She also plays violin and piano and listens to anything from classical to metal. Her future projects include preserving insects in resin and framing tree parts.
